Merge Partial Contracts
Use the Merge Contracts feature to combine transactions you have posted to a treatment phase that has no formal contract with a contract you have created for a different treatment phase. For example, if a patient incurred miscellaneous charges while in the "Observation" phase, but no contract was created for that phase, then the patient moved into "Phase I" and you created a contract, you can merge the "Observation" miscellaneous charges with the new "Phase I" contract.
Use This Feature

Open Patient Finance Page - Patient folder >

Choose Partial Contract - Select the partial contract you want to work with from the list at the left of the window. A partial contract occurs when miscellaneous charges and / or payments have been posted to a treatment phase, but no contract was created for that treatment. The icon that displays beside partial contracts is slightly different than the icon for formal contracts.

Initiate Merge Contracts Option - Click
Merge Contract from the Edit section of the Patient ribbon bar. This option is available only when you have highlighted a partial contract in the accounts list and an active contract for a different treatment phase is available.

Enter Merge Details - Choose how you wish to combine the contracts.

Finish - When you're ready, click Merge to save your choices and return to the patient's Finance page. The transactions posted to the former partial contract will be added to the selected contract, and the partial contract will no longer be in the list of patient accounts.
