Use the Assign conditional element to define the contents of a variable for use within a specific workflow activity.
Home ribbon bar > Editors > Workflows > Workflows. (You can also search for the editor you want to work with.)
Choose workflow - Click to select the workflow you wish to work with. See "Set Up Workflows" for details. about creating basic workflows.
Add variable assignment - Drag the Assign element onto your Workflow Activities.
Define variable contents - Choose the variable type to work with. Then create a new Name for your variable, and enter the value to assign to it. The value format depends upon the type of data you have chosen to work with. See "Workflow Variable Types" for details.
Save Changes Click
Save in your Quick Access toolbar or File ribbon bar (or press Ctrl+S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made.
Temporary variable - The Assign element keeps its value only within this workflow.
General use - Generally, the Assign element is used in conjunction with the If conditional element to evaluate patient data and assign an appropriate value according to the results of the evaluation.
