Set Up Appliance & Destination Lists

The Appliance editor lists the types of patient appliances that you prescribe and use throughout orthodontic treatment, while the Destination portion of the editor lists the facilities you use for laboratory services and additional professional consultation of your patient appliances. If you have your own appliance lab, we suggest you include your office as a destination as well.

How to Get Here

Click to OpenOpen Appliances Editor - Home ribbon bar > Tools section > Editors > General > Appliances. (You can also use the Search field to look for the editor you want to work with.)

Choose Your Settings

Click to OpenCreate New Description - Click New from either the Appliances or Destinations side of the window. Then select your new record at the bottom of the list and enter a description.

Edit Descriptions - Click in the field you want to modify and type your changes, or cut, copy, and paste as needed.

Click to OpenAssign Workflows - (Appliances list only.) Click in the Send Workflow or Received Workflow column to assign a set of tasks to be triggered when the selected appliance is either flagged as "sent" or "received" in a patient folder. (See "Workflow Editor" for details about creating workflow tasks.)

Click to OpenInactive Option - Once created, you cannot delete an item in your list. You can, however, use the Inactive column at the right of the description to toggle the active / inactive status of each item.

Click to OpenSave Changes - Click Save in your Quick Access toolbar or File ribbon bar (or press Ctrl+S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made.

More Information

Print - You may want to print this list as a report for reference. See "Appliance List" for details.

General Appliance Workflow Trigger - Use the Appliance Checked In workflow trigger to activate a workflow whenever a patient appliance has been flagged as "received", regardless of the appliance type. See "Workflow Trigger Editor" for details. (This workflow option is in addition to the workflows you can assign to specific appliances, as described above.)

Click to OpenEditor History - When you open more than one editor without leaving the Editors window, a history of those editors appears at the top of your screen. You can click a name in the history to return to any previously opened editor, easily going back and forth between editors. This is useful, for example, when you are working with editors that are related to one another, such as the Treatment Chart Style editor and the Treatment Chart List editor.
