Dental Charge Types Editor

Use the Dental Charge Types editor to create your categories of dental procedure charges (i.e. Dental Procedure, Emergency Dental, Periodic Prophy). When you post a charge with a description from this editor, it will be flagged as a dental charge, rather than an orthodontic miscellaneous charge.

Not for Miscellaneous Charge Set Up - Do not use this editor to set up miscellaneous charge descriptions for orthodontic treatment: See "Miscellaneous Charge Editor" for details about setting up those charges.

Click to OpenAdd and Edit Dental Charge Types

  1. Open Dental Charge Types Editor - Select Editors from the Tools section of the Home ribbon bar. Then, from the Financial section, open the Dental Charge Types editor. (You can also use the Search field to look for the editor you want to work with.)

  2. Add and Edit Descriptions - Click the blank field at the bottom of the list to add a new description, or click an existing description to edit it. Once you create a record, you cannot delete it. You can, however, flag it Inactive. Records you flag as Inactive are not available for general use, but they remain in your system for reporting and other data collection needs. In addition, you can toggle records back to Active whenever needed.

  3. Save Changes - Click Save in your Quick Access toolbar or File ribbon bar (or press Ctrl+S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made.

Click to OpenUse Dental Charge Types

When you post a charge for a patient, your dental charge types appear within the list of miscellaneous charges. Once posted, the charge is flagged as a Dental Charge, rather than a Misc. Charge in the patient ledger.
