Security Editor
Use the Security editor to determine the level of access an operator has for launching Edge Cloud features, as well as viewing and changing data.
Select Editors from the Tools section of the Home ribbon bar. Then, from the Practice section, open the Security editor. (You can also use the Search field to look for the editor you want to work with.)
Edit an Existing Security Model - Your list of existing security models appears at the left. Click the model to work with. The details for that model appear at the right. The Operators in Model box under the models list shows the Edge Cloud users that are assigned to the selected security model. (See "Operator Editor" for details about assigning operators to security models.)
Create a New Model - Click Add at the top of the window. Enter a brief name, and a description of the purpose of the security model, and click Add at the bottom of the box.
You cannot change the details of the Administrators security model: This model always allows access to all Edge Cloud features and data.
Name and Description - Select a security model from the list at the left. If you have just created a new model, it is selected automatically. You can then edit the group name and description as needed.
Security Access - Select a security model to work with, then choose a Security Group area, and set the level of access for that area. If you choose No Access, Read Only Access, or Full Access, your selection will be applied to all of the individual settings within that area. If you choose Custom Access, you can then use the right side of the window to set access rights to individual settings within that area.
Delete Security Model - Select the security model to remove, then click Delete.
Save Changes - Click
Save in your Quick Access toolbar or File ribbon bar (or press Ctrl+S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made.
Use the Role and Security section of the Operator editor to select the security model for each person that uses Edge Cloud in your practice. See "Operator Editor" for details.
You can assign each operator account to one or more specific offices, thus providing further data security, as the operator will only have access to the data from assigned offices. You can also assign specific assistants and orthodontists to offices, further limiting an operator's security access to that data as well. See "Operator Editor" for details.
