Manage HR Manager Calendar Events

You can add and edit non-patient appointments, such as office meetings, staff vacations, and other events, in your HR Manager calendar.

Security RestrictedClosed - Only operators with full security access to the HR Manager calendar can see or manage this feature. See "HR Manager Security" for details.

Absence / Time-Off RequestsClosed - Employee absences and requests for time-off can be edited from the HR Manager calendar, but should be entered with the Request Time Off option of the HR Manager calendar ribbon bar, and not added directly to the calendar.

Anniversaries and BirthdaysClosed - You cannot edit employee birthdays and anniversaries by double-clicking them: That information must be changed in the employee's HR Manager record.

Click to OpenAdd or Edit HR Manager Calendar Events

Click to OpenOpen Your HR Manager Calendar

With your HR Manager open, select Calendar from the General section of the ribbon bar.

Click to OpenOpen the Appointment Window

Click  Add to Calendar from the calendar ribbon bar, or double-click a blank space in the calendar, to create an appointment or event. You can also double-click an existing appointment to edit it. If you edit an appointment that is set to recur, you must choose whether to edit the individual appointment or the entire series. You cannot change the employee associated with a scheduled time-off request, but you can change all other details.

Click to OpenAppointment / Event Details

SubjectClosed - Enter a short description of the appointment or event.

Start / End Dates and TimesClosed - Enter the date and time the appointment will begin and end. You can optionally enable the All Day option to schedule the event for the entire day or range of days.

Reason for AbsenceClosed - Even when the event is not a request for time off, you need to indicate why it is being scheduled. (See "HR Manager Calendar Category Editor" for details about editing the list.)

Message / NotesClosed - Type a full description of the appointment or event in the box at the bottom of the window. These notes will be displayed in the tooltip that appears when you hover over a scheduled appointment.

RecurrenceClosed - Click  Recurrence in the event ribbon bar to schedule the appointment at regular intervals.

StatusClosed - Click  Status, then select the appropriate response. The appointment status indicates whether the event is tentative, or whether the staff responsible for the event is busy, out of the office, or free during that time period. You can set the status when you create an appointment / event, as well as when you edit appointments. (Only users with full access security rights to the HR Calendar can change the event status.) In the calendar, the status of an appointment is indicated by the pattern at the right edge of the appointment when viewed in Day or Week mode.

Delete Closed- Click  Delete to remove the appointment from your calendar. If the appointment is set to recur, you can only delete it if you have selected to open the entire series.

Click to OpenSave the Appointment / Event

Click  Save and Close in the event ribbon bar to add your appointment to the calendar, along with any changes you have made. To cancel instead, click the X at the top right of the window.

Click to OpenReschedule Appointments / Events

Click to OpenEdit Event Date / Time

You can double-click an appointment in the HR Manager manager to reschedule it to a different date and / or time. That change is reflected in the calendar immediately.

Click to OpenDrag & Drop Appointments / Events

You can click and drag an appointment you have created from this calendar to any other visible date and time. So, when you view the calendar in Day mode, you can only move appointments from one time slot to another. However, when you view the calendar in Week or Month mode, you can drag an appointment to any time slot on any visible date.
