Quick Reports

The Quick Reports feature provides one-click access to viewing and printing reports with preset report options, from either your Reporting window or the Quick Reports widget. You can run a quick report individually, or run a group of quick reports with one click, saving you time when running your month-end or morning huddle reports.

Assign Report Settings ToolClosed - If another Edge Cloud operator has the Quick Reports and report folders that you want to use, that operator can use the Assign User Options > Reporting tool to copy those reports and settings to you, OVERWRITING any Quick Reports you have created, or vice-versa. See "Assign User Options" for details.

You can create a Quick Report from any Edge Cloud report that you run from the Reporting window. In addition, forms that you run from the Home or Patient ribbon bar create Quick Reports automatically the first time you run them.

  1. Click to OpenChoose Report Options

    Run the report or form you would like to work with, leaving the report open on your screen. Review the report options at the left side of the window, choosing any settings you want to use for the preset Quick Report settings. See "Run Edge Cloud Reports" for details.

    With the report results on your screen, and the settings you want to save selected, use the Quick Report section of the ribbon bar to enter a description, and enable / disable the Print Only option.

    DescriptionClosed - Enter a description of the report in the Quick Report ribbon bar. We suggest including details about the options you selected, to differentiate this report from any other report.

    Print Only OptionClosed - Enable the Print Only option to bypass viewing the report results on your screen, and immediately printing the report. When this option is enabled, you use the Printer Settings option to select the printer details to use. Disable this option to send the results to your screen first.

    Create the ReportClosed - Click Create in the Quick Report ribbon bar to add to your new report to the Quick Reports list. If you ran the report from an existing Quick Report, you can instead click Save to update those Quick Report settings to the current settings, instead of creating a new report.

Select an individual report or a folder from either the Quick Report section of the Reporting window, or from the Quick Reports widget. Then click Run. Or, double-click a name to run it. The report is generated with the saved options. If you selected a report folder, all the reports in the folder will be generated in sequence with their current quick report settings. (See "Run Edge Cloud Reports" for details. about choosing and running reports.)

When you run a patient form from the Home or Patient ribbon bar, that form will always use Quick Report settings.

After running a quick report, you can change the report options at the left side of the reporting as well as the Quick Report settings in the ribbon bar while the report is still on your screen. Then click Save to save those new settings for this Quick Report.

If the Quick Report is set to print without viewing, the report will not be on your screen, so you will not be able to update the settings in this manner. You can, however, use the Edit Settings feature, described below, to change the Quick Report options.

Select a report from the Quick Report section of the Reporting window, or from the Quick Reports widget. then click Edit Settings. You can then change any of the options available for that report, including whether to open the viewing window or simply print the report when you run it. When finished, click Save at the bottom of the editing window to update your Quick Report with the new settings.

If you have created a Quick Report that skips the viewing window, and simply prints, you can change the printer to use before running the report. Click the report name, then click Edit Printer. You can now select a new default printer for that Quick Report. (If the Quick Report is not set up to print without first opening the viewing window, the Edit Printer option is not available.)

If you have many Quick Reports, you might find it helpful to organize them into folders. To create a folder, click Add Folder from the Quick Reports section of the Reporting window, or your Quick Reports widget. Type a name for your folder and click Ok. You can now drag and drop Quick Reports into the folder, as well as drag folders and files to re-order them. To generate all the reports in a folder, you can simply double-click the folder name,

To delete a Quick Report or Quick Report folder, select the name and click Delete. If you delete a folder, all reports inside that folder are deleted as well
