General User Options

Use the General tab of your User Options window to specify how certain log in and mail merge features will behave. Your security rights must include full access to the User Options Editor setting in the Practice Administration security group for this feature to work for you.

Assign Settings Tool - The settings marked with an asterisk ( * ) are specific to this workstation: The remaining options are specific to you - other users that log onto this computer may have other settings. If another operator has the settings you want to use, that operator can use the Assign Options tool to copy those settings to you, or vice-versa.

Click to OpenOpen General User Options

Open the User Options window from the File, Home, Patient, or Scheduler ribbon bar. Then choose the General tab.

Enable Auto-Logout - Enable this option, then enter the number of minutes of machine inactivity to wait until the operator is logged out of Edge Cloud automatically. (Continuing to use the computer for other applications outside of Edge Cloud, such as word processing, does not count as inactivity.)

If an operator is assigned to a global password policy that includes an Auto-Logout timeout, and that operator has enabled the Auto-Logout user option, Edge Cloud will use the lower of the two timeouts.

Disable Check for Updates During Log-In - Enable this option to go to the Edge Cloud log in screen without first checking for system updates. Note that you will need to disable this option periodically, then exit and re-enter Edge Cloud in order to keep your system up-to-date.

Culture Format - (Machine setting.) Select the format you wish to use for displaying times, dates, and currency within Edge Cloud.

Remember current open windows for next launch - Enable this option if you want to re-open any currently active windows when you exit and re-enter Edge Cloud. If this option is disabled, only your active dashboard and application widgets will be open when you first log into Edge Cloud.

Disable capturing to correspondence when printing a Merge Queue document being edited - If this option is enabled, mail merge documents that you send to the Merge Queue, then choose to edit and print while in your word processor, will not be added to any correspondence history. You can save any changes you make to the output, then return to the Merge Queue to print or email the letter. At that time, the document will be recorded in the appropriate correspondence history. This provides a way for you to approve changes before they are permanently added to correspondence histories.

Alternately, if this option is disabled, queued mail merge documents that you edit and print from your word processor will be immediately added to the correspondence history and removed from the queue list. This eliminates the extra step of returning to the Merge Queue to print / email edited merge documents, but does not provide for review and approval of the changes.

Throttle Upload Speed - The throttle upload settings provide a way for you to control the amount of bandwidth used to upload patient images to your server. Enabling the throttle speed on computers that upload the bulk of your image files may help enhance the speed of your entire Edge Cloud system. More...
