Set Up Patient Sign-In Station

Certain setup options help protect your data while making it easier to open and run your patient sign-in station.

Sign-In station shortcut - (Optional.) Add a shortcut for the OndeckStartup.exe utility to your desktop, or pin the application to your Start menu to simplify starting Patient Sign-In on stations used specifically for that purpose. You can generally find this file in the program files\ortho2 folder, (If you don't know how to add shortcuts, contact your computer administrator or call Ortho2 fo assistance.)

Automate sign-in activation - (Optional.) You can choose to automatically start Patient Sign-In whenever the computer station is turned on. Simply add a shortcut to the OndeckStartup.exe utility (described above) to your Startup folder.

Enter sign-in path - (Optional.) Enter the location of the layout you want to load when you open Patient Sign-In on this computer. See "Set Up General User Options" for details.

Install fingerprint sensor at sign-in station - (Optional.) If you use fingerprint identification, you might want to install a fingerprint sensor at your dedicated Patient Sign-In station for patients to use. (Patients can also sign themselves into your system with a keyboard or a touch screen.) (See "Acquire Patient Fingerprints" for details.)

Protect data - (Strongly recommended.) Prevent unauthorized access to your practice data with an operator account created specifically for dedicated Patient Sign-In stations.

Password - (Strongly recommended.) The Patient Sign-In password prevents patients from gaining access to the rest of your computer system from the sign-in station. See "Set Up General Sign-In Settings" for details.
