Apply Edge Reminders Contact Flags to a Subgroup
You can enable / disable Edge Reminders contact flags for any subgroup of patients with the Assign Edge Reminders Defaults tool. You might use this, for example, to enable the Text Message flag for the Patient Cell contact type of all "Active" patients when you first start sending appointment reminder text messages.
New Patient Defaults - Use the Default columns of your Contact Category editor to set up default Edge Reminders contact descriptions. Then, when you add that contact description to the Contact Info section of a patient folder, responsible party, or professional record, they will automatically be enabled to receive reminders.
Select Other Tools from the Tools section of the Home ribbon bar. Then select Assign Edge Reminders Defaults via Subgroup.
Select the contact type to work with (patient, responsible party, or professional), then select the category you want to apply defaults to (i.e. Appt Phone, Cell Phone, or Email). Finally, choose whether to enable or disable the category for each type of Edge Reminders message output, or choose None to leave the existing category assignment as-is.
You apply defaults for one contact type and one category at a time. If you want to apply defaults to different contact types and/or categories, you will need to run this tool multiple times.
View the list of records that fits your subgroup at the right of the window. If needed, click Refresh to generate the list. To remove a record from the list, click the name, then press the Delete key on your keyboard. If you press Refresh again, the selected subgroup will be re-generated, and the deleted names will return to the list.
When you are satisfied with the list of records that will be affected, click Apply. The selected Edge Reminders contact information will be applied to each listed record immediately.
Only existing contacts for the listed records will be affected: If the patient, responsible party or professional doesn't have the type of contact being changed, that record is ignored.
