Deposit Slip

Run the Deposit Slip to obtain a list of all of the deposit receipts for a given Transaction report. Many offices use the first page of this report either in place of a banking deposit slip, or to reconcile against that slip. Transaction adjustments (such as reversals and adjustments for non-sufficient funds) and items marked for exclusion by right-clicking the receipt in the transaction ledger are not included on the Deposit Slip.

We recommend that you print the Deposit Slip after you finalize your Transaction Report for the day, as finalizing the Transaction Report also finalizes the Deposit Slip. The Deposit Slip separates cash, check, credit card, electronic transfer, debit card, and money order receipts and itemizes them for your bank. Items that you do not take to the bank (such as credit cards, electronic transfers, and debit cards) appear on the last page of the report, while items that need to be deposited (cash, checks, and money orders) appear on the first page.

Include / Exclude OrthoBanc Transactions on Deposit SlipClosed - Generally, OrthoBanc payments are treated separately from other payments made in Edge Cloud, and while the OrthoBanc transactions you download are included on the Edge Cloud Transaction report, they are not included on the deposit slip. If you would like OrthoBanc payments included on your Edge Cloud deposit slip, you need to enable the Include on Deposit slip option at the bottom of the OrthoBanc Get Deposits before posting the transactions. To print a Deposit Slip for today's receipts that you can take to the bank, be sure to first finalize the transactions for the day. If you routinely finalize transactions for individual offices, doctors or Edge Specialist specialties, rather than finalizing all at once, be aware that the transactions of un-finalized groups will not be included on the Deposit Slip. Select Reporting from the Reporting section of the Home ribbon bar. Then from the Financial section, open the Deposit Slip report. (You can also use the Search field to find the report you want to work with.) You might also be able to run this report from your Recent Reports or Quick Reports list. Un-Finalized Transactions Omitted from Old ReportsClosed - To print a Deposit Slip for today's receipts that you can take to the bank, be sure to first finalize the transactions for the day. If you routinely finalize transactions for individual offices, doctors or Edge Specialist specialties, rather than finalizing all at once, be aware that the transactions of un-finalized groups will not be included on the Deposit Slip.

Preliminary / Old ReportClosed - Choose to run the Preliminary Report to include information that has not yet been finalized (generally today's deposits so far); or, choose Old Report to include finalized transactions. You generally use old reports immediately after finalizing the Transaction report to print a deposit slip that you can take to the bank today.

Old Report OptionsClosed - If you are running a deposit slip for an Old Report, you can choose a specific Transaction report number in the By Report Number section of the window, or find finalized deposit transactions by using the date, office, doctor, and Edge Specialist specialty fields in the By Search section of the window.

Report FiltersClosed - You may choose to run the report for one or more specific doctors, offices and / or Edge Specialist specialties, or include all filters on the report.

View ResultsClosed - If needed, click View at the top of the report settings panel to view the results on your screen. When you run a report or form from your Recent Report list, or when you run a Quick Report, the initial results are sent to your screen immediately, with one exception: A Quick Report that has the Print Only option enabled will not show your results on the screen at all, but continue with the printing options.

Manage Options and OutputClosed - With the results on your screen, you can choose the output with the toolbar at the top of the report window. See "Report Output Options" for details.

Single Date OnlyClosed - The deposit slip can be printed for a single date only, and includes the finalized receipt transactions that correspond to the Transaction report of the same date.

Deposit Slip TotalClosed - The bottom of the first page of the deposit slip summarizes the total of just the checks, cash and money orders, so that you can take this page to your back along with your deposit items.

Deposit Slip Grand TotalClosed - The bottom of the last page of the deposit slip summarizes all deposit transactions, including credit cards, debit cards and electronic transfers.

Office / Doctor Payment DesignationClosed - All payments you post in Edge Cloud (or, if you have Edge Specialist, your payments for your orthodontics specialty charges, are applied to the office and doctor listed on the Patient Information Panel of the patient folder, regardless of what payment account is used. So, if an office sets up a payment account called Credit Card – Main Office, and uses that account to post a payment for a patient assigned to their Satellite Office, the payment will be applied to the Satellite Office on the deposit slip and Transaction report. If you have Edge Specialist, when you post a payment for a pediatric dentistry insurance claim, you choose which office, doctor, and specialty to post to.
