Set Up Scheduled Reminders

Use the Scheduled Reminders tab of your Reminders editor to schedule recurring messages, such as daily appointment reminders, and weekly birthday reminders. Once set up, active reminders will be sent automatically.

Get Started

Set Up Your Messages - Use the Messages tab of your Reminders editor to create and edit the Edge Reminders messages you send via email and text message. (To create and update telephone voice messages, contact Ortho2.) You must have at least one message created before you can schedule reminders. See "Set Up Reminder Messages" for details.

Choose Your Settings

  1. Click to OpenOpen Edge Reminders Integration - Select Editors from the Tools section of the Home ribbon bar. Then from the Integrations section, open the Reminders editor. (You can also use the Search field to look for the editor you want to work with.)

  2. Provide Credentials - Enter your Edge Cloud user name and password. Only operators assigned to a security model that allows full access to the Edge Reminders Editor settings of the General Administration group can open this editor. See "Set Up Security Access" for details.

  3. Click to OpenSelect Edge Reminders - Choose the Edge Reminders plug in, and enable the Activate option. All Edge Reminders set up options are then available to you.

  1. Click to OpenOpen Scheduled Reminders - Open the Scheduled Reminders tab.

  2. Click to OpenCreate or Edit a Scheduled Reminder - Choose an existing scheduled reminder to work with, or create a new one.

  3. Click to OpenEnter Details - Enter the dates and times the reminder should be run.

  4. Click to OpenSave Changes - Click Save in your Quick Access toolbar or File ribbon bar (or press Ctrl+S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made.

More Information

Preview scheduled reminders - You can preview the details of reminders that are scheduled to be activated from the Upcoming Scheduled Reminders tab of the Edge Reminders window. See "Send Edge Reminders Messages" for details.

Contact Flags Required - You must flag the contact detail (telephone number, email address, and/or cell phone number) that you want to use to deliver reminder messages for each patient, responsible party, and professional record in your database. Otherwise, the person will not get any messages, even when they fit your selected subgroup. On the other hand, if you have flagged multiple delivery methods, the person will receive a message in each format. (However, if the patient and responsible party contact information matches, Edge Cloud will recognize the duplicate, and send only one message in that format.)
