Manage Time Off (PTO) Requests
Time off (i.e. PTO and sick leave) requests appear in the queue at the bottom of the HR Manager calendar window, where administrator can accept or deny them. Accepted requests will appear as scheduled events in your HR Manager calendar. You can review all requests, including accepted and denied requests, from the Time Off Queue at the bottom of the HR Manager calendar.
Staff members can request time off from Edge Cloud, or from the HR Manager calendar. All requests are sent to the queue at the bottom of the HR Manager calendar, where administrators can accept or deny them. See "Request Time Off (PTO)" for details.
Requests for time off, whether they are waiting approval, or have been approved, denied, or deleted, appear at the bottom of your HR Manager calendar.
Open Your HR Manager Calendar
With your HR Manager open, select
Calendar from the General section of the ribbon bar.
Adjust Column Width
Click the bar between two columns to reallocate the column space. Be aware that it is possible to adjust a column to be so narrow that you no longer see it.
Change Column Order
Click a column heading and drag it to a new location within the window. Other columns adjust accordingly.
Filter Requests
Click the filter at the left of the queue at the bottom of the calendar window to select the request status to view.
Double-click a Waiting appointment request to open it for processing. You must have full access security rights to the HR Manager Calendar section to be able to view, accept and deny time off requests.
Create Timeclock Entries for PTO
Accepting time off requests from the HR Manager calendar does not affect the employee's accrued time off in their HR Manager record. You must also create timeclock entries for "Vacation" or "Well Pay" hours in order for the employee PTO balance to be affected. See "Enter PTO Hours" for details.
Review the Request
Review the details of the time off request. You cannot edit the request from this window: However, once you accept a request, it will appear as a scheduled event in your HR Manager calendar, and can be edited from there. See "Manage HR Manager Calendar Events" for details.
Accept / Deny Request
Click to Accept or Deny the request. Accepted requests become scheduled events in your HR Manager calendar. Denied and deleted requests remain in the queue for future reference. When an employee's time off request has been either accepted or denied, that employee receives a notice of the decision via the Message Center or Messaging widget.
