Use the Setup tab of the Reminders editor to activate and configure your Edge Reminders integration.
Home ribbon bar > Editors > Integrations > Reminders. (You can also search for the editor you want to work with.)
Provide credentials - Enter your Edge user name and password. Only operators assigned to a security model that allows full access to the Edge Reminder Editor settings of the General Administration group can open this editor. See "Set Up Security Access" for details.
Select Edge Reminders - Choose the Edge Reminders plug in, and enable the Activate option. All Edge Reminders set up options are then available to you.
Open Setup Options - If needed, click to open the Setup tab.
Configure Edge Reminders options - Set up the communication details of your reminder system.
Token - The token field identifies your Edge Reminder system: Do not change this field unless you are directed to do so by an Ortho2 representative.
Phone E164 prefix / area code - Enter the prefix and area code (if required) to dial for telephone calls made from Edge Reminders.
Test phone number - Type a phone number (usually beginning with "+1" and the area code) to use to test your reminder system. If you want to test the computer voice you have chosen, enter the number of a phone you can answer and click the Test Phone Message button. If you want to test SMS text messaging, enter the number of a phone that can receive and send text messages and click the Test SMS button.
Text message "From" phone number - Select the text message phone number that was provided with your system. When someone texts to this number, the messages will be handled by your Edge Reminders system. If you have multiple offices, you will need to select the appropriate number for each office.
Receive text message alerts - Enable the Receive Text Message Alerts option in your Edge Reminders editor if you want text messages to pop up on your screen as they come into your system. If you disable this option, you will need to open the Text Message window to see the messages. If you change this setting, you will need to exit and re-enter Edge before the change will take effect. (See "Send & Receive Individual Text Messages" for details.)
Voices - Select a recorded voice to use for the basic text of your telephone messages, and a computer voice to use for phonetic pronunciation of patient names. To test the computer voice, edit a Patient Information Panel and click the Play button beside the first name or phonetic name to initiate a test phone call to the test phone number (above). These are system-wide settings.
Retries - Select the maximum number of retries, and minutes between retries, for telephone messages. These fields, which are operator-specific, are ignored for email and text messages. Note that you can set up different retry values for scheduled reminders. See "Set Up Scheduled Reminders" for details.)
Custom date - This date field is used when you send an Office Closure message to notify patients of an upcoming, closure of your office (for weather, family emergency, or similar situation) . This field is ignored for all other message types. (See "Send Edge Reminders Messages" for detailsabout sending office closure messages.)
Save Changes Click
Save in your Quick Access toolbar or File ribbon bar (or press Ctrl+S on your keyboard) to save any changes you have made.
