Use the Contract Details editor to assign a late fee policy, contract class(es), and statement due date of a contract, and to change the treatment phase associated with the contract.
(Use the Contract Structure editor, not the Contract Details editor to reallocate a contract among billing parties or change payment schedules. See "Edit Contract Structure" for details.)
Patient Folder - Open patient >
Finance page. (See "Open Patient Folders" for details about opening specific pages of a patient folder.)
Choose Contract - Select a contract from the list at the left of the window. If the contract group you want is collapsed, click the [+] button to expand it so you can see all the billing names with contracts in that group. (See "View Patient Finances" for details.)
Launch Contract Details Editor - Choose Contract Details from the Patient ribbon bar.
Review and Edit Details - You originally select the details on the Summary tab of a new contract. However, if the contract was created from a proposal, the contract will have default values.
Contract Name - You can change the name for this group of contracts, which defaults to the name of the treatment phase, and displays on both the Financial and Insurance pages of the patient folder.
Treatment - If you change the treatment phase for a contract group, you change the treatment for all associated contracts. This keeps the full treatment fee amount that is allocated among multiple contracts the same.
Contract Name & Treatment Note - If you change the treatment phase associated with this contract, but do not change the contract name, you must confirm your action before continuing. Since the contract name is often a description of the treatment phase, we strongly suggest you change the contract name to match.
Late Fee - Select the late fee policy to apply to this contract. See "Set Up Late Fee Policies" for details. Note that the late fee applied to miscellaneous charges (i.e. diagnostic records charges and panorex charges) can be different from the late fee applied to contract charges (i.e. initial fees and period fees).See "Responsible Party Page" for detailsabout selecting a late fee policy for miscellaneous charges.
Contract class - Select to assign one or more contract classes to this account. See "Set Up Contract Classes" for details about setting up your list.
Statement due date - Select the date to use as the "due date" when you print statements for this contract.
Save - Click Save at the bottom of the window to save the changes and return to the patient folder.
